Founded in Venice in 1921, Fortuny creates luxury fabrics and wallcoverings, continuing the work of artist and inventor Mariano Fortuny. Together with his wife and collaborator, Henriette Negrin, he developed a textile practice rooted in his study of historic patterns, color, and light. The Factory they opened on Giudecca in 1922 remains the heart of the House, where talented artisans continue to work with his original machines and closely guarded methods. Today, the House creates textiles and handcrafted accessories that draw on this rich history, carrying its Founder’s inventive spirit into new fabrics, patterns, and printing techniques.
